5844 Media Technology I

Prerequisite: 1.Junior or Senior
2. Successful completion of Intro to MediaTech
3. Teacher approval

For students who have a basic understanding of filmmaking and how to use production equipment this course will help to expand their skills and knowledge in this field. Working in groups students will use more complex high definition cameras and will be trained in more specific areas of production including narrative, documentary, and experimental film. Students will write and produce their own scripts, as well as learn to edit on the industry standard editing system Final Cut Pro.

Media Technology I is a double-block course. It is Tech Prep articulated course. College credit-in-escrow/advanced measure is offered for this course with ACC. Student may elect to have this course substitute for one credit in P.E.
