5841 Introduction to Media Technology

Prerequisite: None

 

This course is split into two parts: history and hands-on video production. In the first semester students will learn history of film, from the birth of cinema and the silent movies, to current day films. While other media, such as radio and television will be also addressed the course will focus on film. In the second semester students will be given access to high definition video cameras and other production equipment and will learn the basics of filmmaking in a hands-on approach. Students will be also introduced to lighting, sound, and editing.

 

Introduction to Media Technology is a Tech Prep articulated course. College credit-in-escrow/advanced measure is offered for this course with ACC.
