Program Overview

The Round Rock ISD Engineering Academy is located at McNeil High School and was founded in 2001. This four-year pre-engineering program consists of a comprehensive series of courses designed for high school students with an interest in the field of engineering, and features pre-engineering curriculum from Project Lead the Way and the Infinity Project.  This non-selective Academy serves the entire school district, and students interested in participating in the Engineering Academy program are eligible to transfer to McNeil High School to participate.

    This diagram is a visual depiction of the Engineering Academy classes. This program features pre-engineering curricula from Project Lead the Way (http://www.pltw.org) and The Infinity Project (http://www.infinity-project.org), two nationally recognized groups providing pre-engineering curriculum for high school students. Courses listed in the center of the page are offered only at McNeil High School (within RRISD) and make up the main course offering of the Engineering Academy. Courses listed on the left and right side of the pages are offered at multiple RRISD campuses and are counted as Academy courses as well.
