
HOSA
A powerful curricular program of student lead activities designed to develop future leaders for the health care system. HOSA participation provides opportunities for students to:
- develop effective leadership qualities and skills;
- enhance communication skills;
- develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- build self-esteem through individual and group achievement;
- articipate in community service activities;
- develop character and responsible citizenship traits;
- set goals for life long learning and make realistic career choices;
- network with health care professionals and peers who have similar goals;
- and access student scholarship opportunities.

A very active chapter (over 100 members)
dedicated to service activities and advancing their knowledge of healthcare
related topics. Our students consistently place well in competitive events and
each year we have students advancing to State.
Volunteer opportunities: Autism
Speaks, MS Walk, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer ("Race for the Cure"),
"Relay for Life," Nursing Homes, and Texas Baptist Children's Home.

McNeil HOSA is proud of our many
competitors who consistently place well on all levels of competition, including
a FIRST IN THE NATION (Harsha Gummadi - Pathophysiology) in Dallas last
summer. This year we had 21 students who qualified to compete at State
and 7 at Nationals. Way to go,
