Prerequisite: Sophomore, Junior, Senior

 

This course focuses on knowledge and skills related to the development, care, guidance, and protection of children. Instruction addresses the principles and procedures for promoting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of young children, including those with special needs.  Other topics include characteristics of quality childcare, career options related to the care and education of children, and the management of multiple family, community, and family roles.
