Prerequisite: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
This course introduces general accounting concepts, principles, and procedures. The course develops skills and knowledge necessary for individuals to conduct personal business or to further their education in the filed of accounting. Practice sets or simulations, as well as calculators and computers are used to develop these skills. This course covers journalizing, posting, the balance sheet, income statement, depreciation, Notes, petty cash, income taxes and other accounting-related topics.
Students develop a foundation in the economical, financial, technological, international, social, and ethical aspects of business to become competent consumers, employees, and entrepreneurs. Students will learn basic accounting procedures for small businesses, partnerships and
corporations.
